Liverpool transfer blow! Argentina striker’s agent distances star from Anfield switch

first_imgOne of Mauro Icardi’s representatives has refuted suggestions the Inter Milan striker will be on his way to Liverpool this summer.Icardi is the latest name to be linked with the Reds as Brendan Rodgers continues his search for a replacement for Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona in a £75m deal earlier this summer.Rodgers pulled the plug on a deal to sign France international Loic Remy from QPR, while he also lost out to Arsenal in the race to sign Chile star Alexis Sanchez. He is now reportedly tracking £16m-rated Argentinian Icardi, who joined Inter from Sampdoria last year. However one of the 21-year-old’s agents, Letterio Pino, says last season’s Premier League runners-up have not been in touch to discuss the forward’s availability.Pino told Sportitalia: “Neither have I, nor Abian Morano, his other agent, ever had any contacts with the English club.”Icardi, who is under contract at the San Siro until 2018, scored nine goals in 22 Serie A outings last term. 1 Mauro Icardi last_img read more
